Impact Of Music On Our Daily Human Activity

Impact Of Music

Research has shown through the numerous experiments conducted that music has greatly influenced the lives of humans (starting from the stage of childhood through to the stage of adulthood) and still has an influence on the lives of human beings. Music is regarded as being ubiquitous( everywhere), it is said to be present among individuals ranging from different ages, cultures, and races globally.

Music is one of the numerous ways through which human beings express themselves (their emotions, self-perceptions, taste in things, lifestyles, and even temperaments). Our mood determines our choice of music (songs), so also it can be said that music influences our mood.

A survey was conducted in the recent past and it was discovered that most people use music as a means of communication, an outlet for their stressful lives promoting relaxation and a coping mechanism which was used and is still being used to make people get through the low points of their lives especially in situations where the individual feels socially isolated.

It has been shown by recent studies that music aids to boost memory and it speeds up learning activities/processes in people by creating an avenue for mental stimulation of the brain (between neuronal cells and synaptic clefts in the nervous system). It also builds confidence in an individual by boosting the person’s morale.

An interview section was carried out by some human psychologists, it was shown by those who were interviewed regarding the impact of music in their lives, about 95 percent of them stated that music helps them to make decisions concerning their lives. This statement was further evaluated and it revealed that when individuals listen to music, it stimulates the mind thereby causing new ideas to spring forth. Another interesting fact to note about music is that it has the ability or force to bind or bring people together irrespective of their individual differences.

Music has been linked to an increase in endurance level when physical activities or strenuous exercises are being carried out. Experts have analyzed the link between music and endurance level due to the release of a chemical substance called “SEROTONIN” from the brain that is involved in rigorous activities. When a song or a piece of particular music that has a fast beat is played, notice an increase in speed or effort in that individual’s ability (athlete). His or her efforts are said to be doubled up than they normally should be on a normal routine exercise.

One might wonder if Music can have a negative impact on our lives? To an extent, it seems possible especially when one already has negative thoughts, listening to an aggressive rather provocative song can fuel up the emotions which can lead to the commitment of a crime. Since music is everywhere( it can be played in public places or open spaces, it can constitute a form of noise pollution.

Before I draw the curtains, Music has impacted greatly on the human life that we are yet to fathom or understand its dynamics in our day-to-day activities.
